Just Take My Hand

What a crap day, that was the thought that was running through Kale's head as he lent back in his chair. He was tryiing to ignore he calculus teacher and well it wasn't to hard for Kale to do seeming as he hated the class with a passion. These were the lessons that made him wish that he was in rehab, but then when he thought aboyut it again he didn't ever want to have to go back there. So he attempted to get a few notes down so that he wouldn't end up failign the class because he kenw that wouldn't help his record look any better. When the bell finally rung, Kale let out a sigh of relief and lent down grabbing his bag up off the floor. Dropping his calculus book into th ebag, Kale slung it over hsi shoulder before he walked out of the classroom into the packed hallways. His next lesson was a free period so he made his way for the courtyard. The weather had finally picked up and it was warm and sunny otu so Sebastian decided he'd spend some of his free period out int he courtyard.

Yawning Kale pushed his way past the groups of students that were huddeled in the hallways. He tried to ignore their stares and whispers he knew that they were talking about the fact that he ahd supposedly gone and got Sara Wood pregnant jsut before he had been taken to rehab, but Kale was yet to confront all of that stuff and was not sure when he was actually going to. though he knew he needed to do it at some point cause if it was true he didn't want the kid to have it rough like he did with his parents. Pushing the thought to the back of his mind, Kale turned the corner and slipped out one of the side doors that led him staight out into the courtyard area of the school. Already loads of other students where sprawled across the courtyard most of the girls working on their tans and some of the guys had a frisbee and others had a football.

Kale saw a free table just by the edge of the courtyard in the sun so he made hsi way over. Stopping a couple of times to talk to a couple of the girl that he ahd gym with they wanted to know if he was going to be their this afternoon. Waving to them Kale finally made it to the bench and he set his bag down and then lowered himself down onto the bench and lent ont he table part. Leanign round Kale retrived hsi cell from hsui baga nd answered a couple of the messages that he had. After a few moments he felt a shadow fall across the table. His sea green eyes looked away from the cell to see who it was.

Things just seemingly kept getting worse and worse for Sara. Even though the sun was shining and the weather was just gorgeous, everything in her life seemed to be falling apart. She had been able to hide her little problem for about a month or so, but now it was starting to get difficult. She knew that people talked about her behind her back, but she just let it roll right off. She didn't need them, anyways. If it wasn't for that one night, everything would be normal. She would be able to hang out with her friends without worrying if they were going to ask questions she didn't want to answer. Or she wouldn't have to start wearing clothes that were on the larger side, trying to disguise her belly. Yes, things were definately different for Sara, and it was all thanks to the charming smile of Kale Anderson. If she wouldn't have met him and fell for him almost instantly, then they most likely wouldn't have slept together. But they had and even though she tried to push it out of her mind and live on with a normal life as much as possible, reality always had a way of coming back to her.

As she walked through the hallways, Sara could feel the stares of a million students watching her as she passed by. She tried not to let the people around her bother her, but it was hard. She knew what they were saying, calling her a slut or something along the lines of that. She wasn't a slut, that was for sure. She had only slept with one other person besides Kale, and it was just her luck that she got pregnant off of it. The worst part of the whole thing? Kale had come back to the school after getting finished with his rehab, and she had yet to talk to him. She knew the time would come when she had to tell him what was going on, but she was definately putting that off as long as she possibly could. She didn't want him to know about it just yet, even though he probably already heard things. Plus, she would be lying if she said she didn't have any feelings for him, because she did. She was just afraid that if she told him her dirty little secret, he would run the other way and not look back at her.

Walking into the courtyard, Sara looked around for some place ot have a seat and try to enjoy the day. Looking around, she then noticed something she hadn't expected. There he was, sitting on a bench, fiddling with his phone. It was Kale. She walked slowly over to him, taking in a few deep breaths and letting the out swiftly. This was it. It would be the first time the two would talk since he left, and now was as good a time as any. She walked over and painted a smile acrossed her lips, something she had perfected in the past few months. "Hey" she said, softly. She crossed her arms acrossed her chest, as self concisence as ever. She didn't know if he would want to see her, let alone talk to her, so before she sat down or anything, she waited for him to say something to her. Hopefully something that might actually make her truly smile, but she wasn't about to let her hopes get too high.

Kale hadn't known if comig back to school after rehab had been such a good idea. He didn't midn the fact that peopel knew that he had been to rehab that he could deal with, but it was the new rumors and gossip that was going aroudn when eh had come back to campus. He hadn't ever expected any of what was being said to have happened ot him. Kale was close to chucking his book at hsi calculus teacher as he went on and on about equations that Kale was sure eh would never have to use in his life ever. Knowing that he needed to take soem notes at least, Kale picked up his bic biro and scribbbled down a few of the equations that they were meant to be learning, but didn't really pay much attetion to how they actually worked. The bell finally rung and Kale was reliefed he had free period next and all he wanted to do was get out and get some fresh air. Getting his bag, Kale stood it and made sure he had all his books before finally leaving the classroom and moving into the crowded hallway. The courtyard would eb the best plae to go he figured seeming as he had a free period to waste now.

When he was walking down the hallway, Kale sighed as he had to try and ignore the stares that he was getting from a group of students as he amde his way down the hallway. Ever since he ahd gotten back Kale had not been able to walk anywhere without people glancing at him or whispering, and it was liek they wanted to make it obvious so that he would notice them. Kale hadn't acutally however seen Sara since he had been back, it had ben two weeks and well part of him had thoguth they would have bumped into each other, but then he herd rumors that she was avoiding him and well Kale wouldn't really hold it against hwr if she was. He was glad to step out intot he courtyard and take a deep breath of fresh air, before his bright blue eyes looked around trying to find a spot away from were all the other students were. Seeing the free table, Kale headed over for it having to stop a couple fo times to talk to people but only breifly. When he reached the table he dropped his bag down and finally sat down himself a sigh passign through his lips. Kale had been busy with his cel that it had taken hima moment to realize that someoen ahd walked up tot he table.

When he herd the voice, Kale didn't even need to look up to know who it was, but he did and his blue eyes came to rest on Sara standing there in frotn fo him. Kale could feel hsi heart rate pick up he hadn't been expecting this at all, but then eh remembered that she had spoken and so far all eh ahd doen was stare at her like an idiot. "Oh um hey, you wanna sit down?" Kale asked her, he wasn't sure at all how she felt about him. For all He knew she might just be here to slap him and tell him that he is an asshole. "You know I'm sorry about everything and i shoudl have probably spoken to you sooner" Kale said his words stumblign out his nervousness clear as he looked to Sara.
