`icon by beexx @ caution ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- memphis indiana lefevre, wow what a name, a bit of a mouthful. most wonder what on earth her parents were thinking when they named her and her sister. though her sister managed to get stuck with savannah georgia, she was just completely named after a city in the united states. though, her parents seemed to name their little brother with no problem at all. his name isn't anything like theirs. though, we are not here to talk about a life story or to bore you.
laying across her bed, harmony was her roommate and her best friend and she had already left for her classes. memphis wasn't feeling good last night and it had seemed to run over into the morning. she dreaded having to miss her classes, but she didn't have a choice. she was up half the night in the bathroom and she had felt really bad that she kept harmony up most the night too. she had offered to stay back in the room with memphis, but she refused told her she didn't need to miss her classes. the sickness had been getting worse all day long and she believed she had prolonged enough. struggling a bit, memphis pushed herself up off her bed. she was still in her night clothes, which consisted of a pair of plaid shorts and a wife beater. her dark brown hair was up in the messy bun she'd ever seen. but at this point, memphis didn't care what she looked like, she felt like shit and wasn't her to impress anyone. that and everyone was in class, so it wasn't like many people were going to be seeing her.
the only thing that sucked, was the fact that davidson hall, like all the dormitory halls, were separate from the main building. they way they had them designed, they were set off into the shadows of the woods that surrounded the school. davidson just happened to be the farthermost away. so, memphis was stuck walking all the way from her dormitory to the school. in consisted of going down a set of staircases. down a rocking path that went up and down a little to much. and then up some more stairs to make it to the hospital tower. yeah, it sucked, but she needed to get there. she wasn't completely sure what was wrong with her, but something had to be done, because she couldn't bare the pain and sickness anymore. she sighed with a huff, as she reached the bottom of the staircase of davidson hall. "only fifteen million miles to gone." she groaned, with a huff. it wasn't really that far away, but to memphis, it seemed like that far. any other day she could do it with no problem, but she was sick and it was that last thing she felt like doing.
stumbling a little bit and tripping over the rocks that stuck out of the ground, she groaned, huffed, and scolded a bit as she walked down the path towards the academy. memphis wanted to protest. each hall should have a hands on nurse or something, so she wouldn't have to do all this walking, but she knew it was a waste of breath to even try and fight something like that. sighing, she finally had reached the main building. she stopped for a moment, at the front doors. she needed to catch her breath, before she had to walk up the stairs and then all the stairs that lead to the top of the tower, which would have eventually appeared to be the hospital tower. groaning a bit, she grabbed her side. it was now a new part of her body that was hurting. what was next? memphis just felt like falling over dead, she was in so much pain.
grumbling, she finally started up the steps and into the academy hall. she looked around to find it all empty, no shock. everyone has just come back from lunch, so they were in their classrooms. thank goodness she hadn't come an hour later. that was break, where the students had a choice of going back to their dormitories or outside. she huffed and puffed a bit, as she claimed the staircase. they seemed as if they were going on forever. as she finally emerged to the top of the staircase, memphis paused outside the doors to the tower. she thought twice about going in, afraid that someone was going to be in there and see her like that. but soon enough, that thought passed her mind as she gripped her chest. she didn't have a choice, she was in to much pain to turn around and go back to her dormitory and suffer. pushing open the doors, she was thankful that she found it empty. but she wasn't thankful to the fact, she didn't see the nurse in there. she groaned a bit, making her way to the nearest bed. she fall down on it, scolding under her breath as she leaded a on the bed. it was hard and uncomfortable. sighing, she laid still, waiting for someone, anyone at this point, to come in and help her.

giving out a little bit of a groan, as she stretched out across the bed, memphis sighed. what the hell had happened to her? maybe she ate something that didn't go over with her last night? or maybe she was getting the stomach flu or something like that? but whatever was attacking her body, it sure didn't feel nice. memphis laid in the bed, trying to think. to think of everything she did last night. she couldn't think of anything that she would have ate that would have made her this sick. and all the pain she was in, it definitely didn't come with eating the wrong food, she's been there, done that many of times before. a soft, but heavy sign escaped her lips again. memphis wasn't sure how much more of this pain she could handle.
she wasn't paying attention to anything that was happening in the room, so she was completely unaware when she was no longer alone in the hospital area. but when a voice, that she knew all to well, spoke up, she grinned. turning her head slowly, oliver probably wasn't expecting to see her here. he probably thought it was just some girl sick, like always you know the anorexic ones and that kind of stuff. which of course, wasn't rare here at the school. though her brown eyes soon found his, and she grinned.
it was a little rough trying to speak, but she forced it out, in a little shakiness. "hey oliver" she grinned smoothly. it was so nice to see someone. hard to tell were the nurse was, she was glad she was no longer alone. of course, she had wished it wasn't oliver who found her and seen her like this, but there wasn't much she could do about then. when you gotta come here, you gotta, right? watching him for a moment, she forced herself to speak again. "eh, okay doesn't cover anything." she told him. "i'm sick." she added. then again sick wasn't even enough to cover how she was feeling. of course that had to be obvious how could it not be? i mean come on now, just look at her. she was pale as a ghost and ugly in the face. "eh, what about you?" she asked. memphis hadn't realized he had a cut on his arm, then again she wasn't completely paying attention to much at the moment. she grabbed her sides, and took a deep breath and exhaled. she muttered under her breath, before a tear strayed down her cheek.
memphis wasn't really sure how much more she could take. she probably should have found a way to the hospital.at least the time it would have taken to get there, she would have gotten attention. come on now, where the hell was that nurse at? wasn't she suppose to stay here at all times. if so, why wasn't sure now. memphis had a mind to turn her into the school, of course, once she was feeling much better. sighing once more, she eyes looked at oliver and then away, she didn't speak. it hurt when she did, but she tried not to show off to much pain around him. how could a girl be sick in front of the guy she just would die to have. and no, it wasn't because he was a prince or because he is in line for the throne, all that, she doesn't give a rats ass about. oliver is probably the most unique and sweetest guy she has ever meant. she doesn't have to be someone she is not around him. she can just be..... herself. and being yourself is hard to do around guys sometimes. okay, its hard around nearly all guys, but oliver.
