Photography assignments rarely left a great deal of room for creativity. If Evan hated anything about the program, that was it. The professors gave the most basic, simple, and utterly normal assignments he’d ever heard of, and he could only do so much to make them more interesting. Today’s assignment was a study on form and shadow done with black and white film. He figured he could achieve that, but he wasn’t content to use what he found around campus as material. Too many people would do that, and there wasn’t much he hated more than submitting an assignment that was too much like those of his classmates.
Clad in a pair of loose jeans and a hoodie, the boy headed for the castle. Old architecture was so much more intricate than the modern sort, and he used portions of the castles in a great deal of his work. His teachers were probably tired of it, and he knew his fellow students grew bored of seeing the buildings in so many of his photographs, but he really couldn’t help it. There was a certain type of magic involved when you found the right angles of the crumbling buildings.
After wandering around the area a bit, he settled on a corner of the castle that was mostly overgrown with ivy. The leaves cascaded down the stone walls of the building, and the sun’s light played in the gaps between them. A perfect shadow study as far as he was concerned, and the boy pulled out his camera and began snapping pictures. Of course finding the perfect shot wasn’t easy. It became increasingly harder when another shadow joined those of the leaves. Evan grumbled a bit and let out a sigh. The shadow plainly belonged to a person, and he was none too happy with their presence. ”Didn’t anyone ever tell you to look where you’re walking?” he huffed, not even bothering to see who it was. On most occasions, Dublin Castle was too much of a tourist attraction to interest Noelle in any way. She had seen every nook, cranny, and passage way in this place, and had been given multiple tours. Really, it wasn't as exciting as all of the tourists in floral button-down shirts seemed to think it was. However, there was no arguing it was beautiful. So today, a day where there were scare amounts of visitors to the castle do to predictions for horrific weather, Noelle ventured out to the Castle, her camera around her neck. Why not? Noelle hardly went anywhere without at least a cheap digital camera in her bag, or at the very least, the camera in her blackberry. You never knew when you had to snap a photo of some rare occurrence or something that could be more useful later on that didn't need to be superior quality.
Enjoying the peace and quiet, Noelle became absorbed in her work. She had a few photography assignments to do, one on the history of Ireland, one on ancient architecture, and a few more that wouldn't be fulfilled in this visit. Lifting the viewfinder to her eye, however, Noelle began taking images of her surroundings. Nothing too interesting, yet, until she lifted her lens skyward and observed a very interesting array of clouds. The sky seemed painted every shade of blue, and it certainly didn't seem real. Almost gasping at the sight, Noelle positioned herself and the camera so that it was looking up the side of one of the walls and towers of the castle, the storm-ridden sky fitting perfectly into the frame. That is, until a minuscule imperfection appeared in the side of her frame. An imperfection that wasn't too pleased with her being their, either. In fact, it voiced it's displeasure in a rather rude fashion. Knitting her perfectly groomed brows together, Noelle scowled in Evan's direction and parted her lips to say,
"Didn't anyone ever tell you to move your ass?"
She retorted, glaring in his direction. She moved over the slightest bit, hoping that the arrogant man wouldn't notice her moving instead of demanding him to move out of the frame. She was simply too impatient to wait for his stubborn ass to migrate to the left slightly. Capturing the image and grinning to herself, Noelle turned her camera into the off position before walking her BCBG pumps through the grass in Evan's direction.
"Ancient Architecture again, Depaul? Wow, you sure do like them old and crusty, don't you?"
Noelle inquired, her hips swaying gently as she strutted towards the permanently scruffy looking boy. The girl had to struggle to keep her lip in place, for she wanted so badly to curl it in disgust. If there was one boy that irked her beyond belief, it had to be Evan DePaul, second to only maybe Kingston, who annoyed the fuck out of practically everyone.
